Steve Mackey death updates — Pulp bassist and husband of Katie Grand dies at 56 as Jarvis Cocker pays tribute to star

LEGENDARY Pulp bassist and producer Steve Mackey has died aged 56 – and Jarvis Cocker has paid tribute.

The legendary Brit-pop band shared the heartbreaking news on social media yesterday.

Frontman Jarvis Cocker posted on Instagram: “Our beloved friend & bass player Steve Mackey passed away this morning. Our thoughts are with his family & loved ones.”

He went on to describe the photo he shared of his bandmate as he continued to honour him.

“Safe travels, Steve. We hope to catch up with you one day. All our love xx.”

The bassist’s cause of death is not yet known.
