If you want to “elevate your living space” the interior whizz recommended ditching matching furniture sets for starters.

Sure, it might be practical to decorate an entire room in one go from the same shop – but the truth is it’s never going to look posh.

Anthony said: “Instead, I encourage you to mix in different pieces from different collections and add in some accent pieces to really give you that curated, original look.”

And when it comes to artwork in your home – size matters.

Even the most unique and stylish painting or print will look out of place if it’s not the right size for the space.

This is especially true when it comes to small frames above your sofa, according to the pro.

“Generally your art should take up two thirds of that wall space in order to have the proper scale,” he explained.

Getting the perfect size is they key to adding a rug to any room in your home too.

Rugs are a great way to add colour, warmth and a cosy feeling to your home, but the wrong one can make the space feel awkward.

If you’ve got a big room, you’ll need a big rug, Anthony noted.

“You want at least the front two legs of each piece of furniture on the rug, and if you have a space big enough you can even get a rug big enough to float all the pieces on it,” he said.

Smaller rugs will “shrink” your space and look out of place.

Other TikTok users agreed with Anthony’s tips and tricks, one person commented: “Proportions are everything!”

A second said: “Thinking of ways to show my mum the advice on the rug thing, she drives me insane always buying the wrong rugs!”

“Mixing and matching is easier said than done,” another pointed out.
