We’re tattoo artists – here’s the inking we’d NEVER recommend, it’s like a curse and you’ll end up regretting it
GETTING a tattoo is a pretty big decision no matter what design you go for.
But you might want to think twice before you get an inking of your partner’s name – it can only end badly according to these tattoo artists.
The tattoo artists agreed the design is rarely a good ideaTikTok/@markdtattooThere’s only one exception to the rule according to the artistsTikTok/@markdtattoo
According to the pros from Markd Tattoo in Australia, no matter what design or font you go for the tattoo is always a huge mistake.
“Don’t do it, it’s like a curse, you’ll probably break up the next week if you do it,” one artist warned.
He continued: “If it’s lasted than good on you, but I wouldn’t recommend it.”
The other artists in the studio agreed, with one agreeing “it’s bad luck.”
However here’s one exception to the no name rule.
It seems the artists think it’s ok to get your partner’s name if you’re married, since you’re already in it for the long run.
In fact, one of the tattoo artists even admitted to having his wife’s name on his arm, but agreed it’s only because they tied the knot.
It turns out the artists weren’t the only ones who thought name tattoos are a bad way to show your love for someone.
One person commented on the video: “Terrible idea. No matter how sure you are you will love each other forever it’s a terrible idea.”
“My husband and I have semi-matching tattoos. That’s as far as I’ll go,” a second admitted.
A third wrote: “My artist tatted this couple who had been together for 20 years. They divorced the next year.”
“It’s definitely a bad idea but with that being said I have my wife’s name on the front of my neck,” someone else joked.
Another quipped: “No names unless they’re your kids!”
