The sneaky pass that means Brits can skip hours-long queues to cross The Channel this summer – but it’ll cost you

EUROTUNNEL passengers will be able to skip queues, as well as getting several other perks this summer – but it won’t come cheap.

Le Shuttle’s VIP Flexiplus ticket will offer travellers using the tunnel food, drinks, flexible travel and priority boarding.

They will have access to dedicated check-in areas, after which they can use a pit-stop in the exclusive Flexiplus lounges in both Folkestone and Calais terminals.

There they will be greeted by the Eurotunnel staff and have the option of relaxing with a Starbucks coffee and some fresh pastries before boarding if it’s in the morning.

However, once breakfast service is over, they can also choose from a range of light bites from sandwiches, salads and soups to fresh cakes and macarons.

Passengers can then take the journey of their choice, or simply head straight to the priority boarding lane for the next available departure.

Whichever they choose, Flexiplus passengers are guaranteed a space on their preferred journey.

The Flexiplus ticket is fully amendable, refundable and valid for one year, so it does provide some peace of mind if circumstances change.

The perks all sound excellent, but the tickets are a fair bit more expensive than normal tickets, which Sun Online Travel found for as cheap as £26 one way.

The Flexiplus tickets start from £269 per vehicle each way, which can include up to 9 passengers.

The difference is, those passengers are able to turn up any time on their booked travel day and get on the next available train, and access to the club lounge.

However getting the train might be the cheapest and best way to reach Europe this summer.

Airlines have warned that soaring flight prices could become increasingly common this year.

Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has explained that fares will remain high due to “robust demand” for flights for both Easter and summer 2023.

He said: “I don’t think you’ll see £9.99 flights for a long time.”

Meanwhile anyone looking for cheap flights to France should look here for last-minute deals.

And this Eurostar train service saves money getting to Disneyland.
