Schoolgirl, 14, found dead on railway track in Weymouth as cops probe ‘unexplained’ horror

A SCHOOLGIRL has been found dead on a railway track, sparking a police probe.

The British Transport Police were rushed to a railway line in Dorset in the early hours of this morning.

They arrived not long after 2.25am to tragically find the body of a 14-year-old.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the railway line in Weymouth at 2.25am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a 14-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances behind her death.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained so the line will remain closed while enquiries continue.

“Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Greenway Road, Weymouth, between the hours of 1am and 2.30am, as they may have information which could assist their enquiries.

“BT Police are treating the death as ‘unexplained’ and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the girl between 1am and 2.25am today.”
