Luxury £95-a-night dog hotel used by the Beckhams investigated over complaints

A LUXURY hotel and spa for dogs used by the Beckhams is being investigated over a series of complaints.

Council officials are looking into allegations against £95-a-day pooch pamper paradise Urban Mutts.

The Beckhams have used the luxury hotel and spa for dogs

It follows an investigation last year after a dog managed to escape the facility, which opened in November 2020 at the giant Westfield Shopping Centre in White City, West London.

Along with David and Victoria Beckham, its customers include film director Guy Ritchie and ex-Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse.

The latest complaints centre on claims staff were asked to take dogs home at night for a £20 bonus instead of the pets getting premium accommodation.

It was also alleged that a client at the 33-dog kennels was not told that their dog had suffered a suspected seizure.

Stars’ dog walker Barry Karacostas, who started Urban Mutts with business partner Gregory Hands, denied any wrongdoing.

He said dogs were taken home by employees only as an “emergency measure” as a consequence of staffing difficulties, and then only with the owner’s premission.

He denied the seizure allegation and insisted the kennels conformed to all relevant rules and regulations.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council said: “We’ve received three complaints from an individual and are looking into the allegations.”
