Someone who knows all about the process is Tom, 32, who took part in the competition in 2019.
Now the businessman has revealed his advice for future candidates who hope to work with Lord Sugar.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun on behalf of sports water WOW Hydrate, Tom said: “I think the top qualities of a candidate are being funny, always being positive, working hard and being successful at the end of the day.
“I didn’t win but I think Lord Sugar took a shine to me because he saw a lot of himself in me, we’ve got similar backgrounds.
“He likes candidates that are hard grafters and who put themselves out there but take responsibility for themselves too when they mess up.”
Tom also gave his prediction for the final – admitting he’s backing Marnie to go all the way.
He said: “I think Marnie because I’ve got a boxing gym, her business is all about boxing gyms and there’s a good business model there.
“She’s helping to keep people fit, boxing gyms are great for the community as well, it gets people out of trouble and keeps them focused so I’d love for Marnie to win it.”
Tom was on the 2019 series of the BBC One show where Lord Sugar, a former market trader like Tom, reluctantly fired him after praising his loyalty and work ethic.
