A VET has revealed four signs that a dog may be about to bite.

One of the most obvious signs is if a canine bears its teeth and growls or snarls.
He told his 214,000 followers on TikTok: “If a dog shows you its teeth, it’s probably not in a good mood and it’s warning you.
“Although sometimes they do smile.”
Amir said two further signs are an averted gaze and seeing the dog’s sclera.
He added: “If a dog doesn’t make eye contact with you, it may be anxious. Give it space.
“If you can clearly see the sclera (white part) of a dog’s eye, the dog is nervous.”
The final sign is if the hair on a dog’s back is raised.
Amir said: “If the hair on the dog’s back is erect it may be fearful or excited.
“It would be best to keep your distance.”
An expert from animal charity PDSA previously revealed the signs they believe show a dog is about to attack.
They are: licking lips, ears flattened backwards, yawning, “whale eyes” in a white half-moon shape, face turned away, movement away from another dog, crouching close to the ground.
If your pooch gets involved in a scrap with another dog, do not try to separate them or you could end up badly injured.
Dog bites should be washed under a cold tap for ten minutes, even if your skin isn’t broken.
You should also seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Amir also revealed the dog breeds to avoid if you want to give costly medical bills a miss.
His list might surprise some canine lovers because it includes two family favourites.
Top of the list was the American Bulldog, followed by the Bernese Mountain Dog, Rottweiler and flat-nosed French Bulldog.
