Like most parents – Hadlee was fed up with washing up lots of plates after dinner, but also didn’t want to spent loads on paper plates.
That’s when the mum came up with the genius idea to use food baskets lined with parchment paper.
She penned: “Best mom hack… less dishes and cheaper than paper plates.”
In the short clip posted to her account @hadleebreedaines, she showed the plastic food baskets she uses to serve her kids’ food.
She lines the baskets with the paper so that after they’ve eaten she can easily chuck it in the bin without the basket getting dirty.
Not only do they make her job as mum easier – but her kids also love it as they feel like they’re eating in a restaurant.
“Parchment paper is WAY cheaper than paper plates and my kids love it because they feel like they’re eating at a restaurant,” she captioned the post.
The video has since gone viral with over 12.9million views and over 1.5million likes in just 48 hours.
Thousands of people took to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts.
Many claimed so long as the parchment paper was biodegradable, it was also a great way to reduce waste as well.
Many parents claimed the mum was a genius and couldn’t wait to try it out on their own kids.
One person said: “Genius.”
Another commented: “Quite ashamed I never thought of this sooner.”
“Love this idea,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “This is brilliant!”
