‘I used to be a reality star, but now I’m a firefighter again after fame left me unfulfilled, stagnant and lost’
TOWIE star Jordan Wright has revealed he’s quit fame to return to his first love of firefighting.
The former reality star, who previously dated Vicky Pattison, appeared on The Only Way Is Essex and MTV’s Ex On The Beach, has landed a new position and returned to his work as a fireman.

Sharing photos from his previous time in the service, including one babyfaced pic of him in his first official uniform, Jordan admitted he was left ‘hugely unfulfilled’ by his time on TV, realising it wasn’t all it cracked up to be.
Alongside the photos, Jordan wrote: “An incredibly emotional day for me today to say the least. This was me at 19 years old when I first joined the fire brigade.
“I had [an] enjoyable career for 6 years before I resigned to pursue a life in the limelight of reality tv. A choice that left me hugely unfulfilled, stagnant & lost. People think it’s glitz & glamour but the truth is very far from public perception, I really struggled. When I left I lost a huge part of myself and my sense of purpose.”
“Today I received the news that I have a role as a firefighter and I can’t tell you how much this means to me,” he added. “To have back what I was put on this earth to do which is help others & my community.
“Those of you close to me understand just how much I’ve struggled to find direction. I appreciate every single one of you that has walked the twisty path of uncertainty you will never understand just how much your support meant. You mean the absolute world to me.
“Redemption is a road that we all walk at some stage in our lives.”
Jordan was reportedly axed from Towie in 2018 amid claims he was taking paid sick leave from the London Fire Brigade to film the show.
Staff are also not permitted to have second jobs unless they get written permission from their superiors.
His return to the service was celebrated by his pals and followers, including former Big Brother star Lotan Carter, who told him: “YES JORDAN!!! Well done buddy – amen to every blood word!!!!”
Love Island’s Rykard Jenkins wrote: “Fantastic mate.”
While his pal Megan wrote: “Oh Jord, I know how much this means to you. Congratulations”
Jordan responded to Megan’s comment by saying: “you saw it from the start mate so I feel that & I appreciate you so much”
