A MUM has revealed that she regularly puts her son to bed as early as 4:30 pm.
Danielle Mitchell revealed that she pulls her son’s bedtime routine forward if he hasn’t napped during the day – and that it helps her avoid any ‘overtired nonsense’.

In a new reel, she said: “It’s 5:30 and I just put my son to bed and I’m going to go to the gym.
“When I picked up my son from daycare, they told me that he had not napped for the day and screw that, so we’re not doing that overtired nonsense.
“So we brought him right home, fed him dinner, and did bath and bed immediately.
“I do this every single time they tell me that he doesn’t nap at daycare.
“He’s 18 months and sleep is incredibly important for kids in general, but once they’re overtired and cranky, there’s no point trying to keep them awake.
“If I actually try to keep him awake until his bedtime at 7, 7:30, he will sleep worse overnight than if I just come home and put him straight to bed.
“I have legitimately put him to bed at 4:30 before and he will sleep all the way until at least 6 am tomorrow morning.
“Screw the rules, just do what’s best for your kid.”
Fans loved the mum’s honesty, with the video gaining more than 70,800 likes and 760,100 views.
In the comments, other parents shared their thoughts on the early bedtimes, with one writing: “It’s worse to have an overtired child, and it’s proven their sleep is worse at that point.. put kids to bed when they’re tired.”
Another said: “You just gained a follower for this video – my new best mom friend.”
A third wrote: “I wish I had truly let this sink in when my kids were little. It would have made life SO much easier bc you are absolutely correct. 5x mama here.”
“Thank you for this. I’ve been feeling guilty for putting my 8-month-old to bed at 6 pm bc she was so cranky… she napped 20 mins today,” another put.
Although not all were convinced by the idea, with another adding: “I’m all for a good night’s sleep… but 530 is crazy.”
Someone else put: “Y’all don’t even see your kids… that’s crazy to me.”
