The mum decided she didn’t like her countertops and instead of forking out for new marble ones she decided to paint them.

“I painted my countertops. I’ve never lived in a house with countertops that I actually liked so I figured why not give it a go.”

Kilee said she bought her kit from Amazon, its selling for £164.

The Giani Carrara White Marble Epoxy Countertop Kit contains all necessary tools and covers 35 square feet of surface, which is the average amount of countertop area in a kitchen.

The kit includes three tins of paint, three tins of epoxy activator and marble veining paint, brushes rollers, and a sponge.

“The kit came from Amazon and it had mixed reviews, both from people who said it was amazing and people insisting they followed the directions but clearly did not.”

To start off with Kilee painted her countertops with three coats of white paint.

She said: “First came three coats of white paint.”

Next Kilee started the veining process which gives the marble effect.

“Then the veining to make it look like real countertop.”

Kilee explained the veining process took her four hours.

“This part is much easier than it looks but it took me four hours because I tend to be a bit of an over-thinker.”

“After that was all dry I did fell like a real DIY-er and topped it [countertops] with resin epoxy that has to dry for what seems like years.”

“I did spend half the day pick flecks of dust out of it.”

Kilee’s video went viral with over 3.8 million views.

One user said: “The “everything is figure-out-able” is my entire home renovation mindset.”

Another said: “I would need to have somebody else do the veins – I would never be satisfied with it if I did it hahaha.”

A third viewer said: “Countertops look great!”
