Coronation Street fans call out ‘strange’ change to Steve McDonald after hair transplant riddle

STEVE McDonald was spotted with an unusual hair accessory letting fans believe he may have had a hair transplant.

However, Coronation Street viewers spotted yet ANOTHER change to his hairline during Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV soap.

The fallout from Amy Barlow’s rape ordeal continued last night as the teen portrayed by Elle Mulvaney opened up to her parents in hospital.

In earlier scenes of the Manchester-based drama, Tracy Barlow (played by Kate Ford) already took steps to help Amy report her attack to the police.

Sadly, there wasn’t enough evidence for rapist Aaron Sandford (James Craven) to be prosecuted, which led to Amy spiralling out of control.

The florist and her partner Steve McDonald, aka Simon Gregson, became increasingly concerned for Amy’s welfare when she downplayed the severity of her assault.

But after suffering from an alcohol overdose, a substance she used to numb out her painful memories, Amy finally admitted she was struggling and her parents were ready to help.

Off-screen, however, soap fans were too distracted from the emotional story by Steve’s hairline.

They all noticed that Steve had ditched a cap he had been wearing throughout Monday’s instalment of the long-running program and called for the cap’s return to their screens.

Viewers swarmed over to social media to issue their pleas.

“Can we please start a petition to bring back Steve’s cap?”, one of them penned while another questioned: “What’s happened to Steve’s baseball cap that he was wearing the other night?”

“Y’all happy now. Steve’s cap is gone”, a third viewer wrote.

“Someone has taken out the staples that was holding Steve’s cap in place at last”, another quipped.

A fifth soap fan added: “Steve’s lost his cap already” and another jumped in: “No cap for Steve tonight. Strange.”

Viewers were seriously taken aback when Steve showed up on Monday wearing a cap and they became convinced actor Simon Gregson had undergone a hair transplant.

“Steve on a hair transplant then hope it’s better than David’s”, one viewer notably commented.

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
