B&M shoppers rush to buy huge air fryer scanning at the till for £50 off

B&M shoppers can’t get enough of a huge air fryer that’s scanning at the tills with £50 off.

The 7.6 Tower Vortx dual basket model is selling for £99 down from £149 – a 33% discount.

One shopper spotted the air fryer in their local B&M

One savvy shopper spotted the reduced appliance in their local B&M store and posted a photo of it on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

The original post has received dozens of likes and comments from shoppers looking to get their hands on one of the fryers.

One person said: “I want this one so bad,” while a second added: “I have this one it’s brill.”

The Vortx model comes with two 3.8litre baskets so you can cook two meals at the same time.

Meanwhile, it features a digital touch panel, non-stick trays and 360-minute timer so you can set it to cook and let it work its magic.

Like other air fryers, it cooks with considerably less fat too as little to no oil is needed.

One extra handy feature is that the handles stay cool when the fryer is cooking, so you won’t risk burning your hands.

You will need to head out to your local B&M store if you want to bag one of the fryers – it’s not available online.

If you want to save a wasted journey, you can always call ahead to see if they’ve got the model in stock.

And of course, always remember to shop around when buying something like this.

Just because B&M is selling one for £99, that doesn’t mean you can’t get it cheaper elsewhere.

You can use the Google Shopping tab to scour the internet for similar products, or use comparison sites like pricespy.co.uk.

We looked online to see what you can get for your money.

It doesn’t appear that the exact same model is available at other retailers, however we did find some selling similar-style fryers.

But none are cheaper than B&M’s £99 Vortx.

Argos is selling a 7.6litre dual basket Salter model for £125 – and you can pick up 125 Nectar points if you buy it.

Meanwhile, George at Asda is selling a 7.6litre dual basket model for £119.

Are air fryers really worth it?

Air fryers have surged in popularity since energy bills soared as they can be cheaper to use than a conventional oven.

That said, that’s not always the case, and it does depend on the model of air fryer.

In fact, money-saving expert Martin Lewis recently issued a warning that it’s not always cheaper to use the gadgets.

If you are weighing up whether to buy an air fryer, you can use a simple formula to figure out how much it costs.

Cost = power (in kWh) × time (in hours) × price of 1 kilowatt on your energy tariff.

So, if for example, you have an air fryer that consumes 2,000 watts, you are using it for one hour and the cost of electricity is priced at 34p per 1,000 watts, the formula would be:

2 x 1 x 34p = 68p

The 7.6 Tower Vortx dual basket model on sale at B&M has 2,400 watt power.

So the formula to work out how much that costs to use for an hour is:

2.4 x 1 x 34p = 81.6p

You can use the same formula with any appliance, so you can do this with your oven and work out the difference in price.

For example, a normal oven uses between 900 and 3,500 watts of power.

So if you bought one on the lower-end of the power scale, it would actually be cheaper to use that than the 7.6litre Tower Vortx air fryer per hour of use.

That said, sometimes it’s easier and more convenient to cook something quicker in the air fryer, and use less oil making them a healthier option.
