BBC presenter says his wife has banned him from Strictly over show ‘curse’
JAKE Humphrey says his wife has banned him from Strictly Come Dancing.
The BT Sport host revealed that other half Harriet gave him the order after she worked backstage on the BBC show in 2004.

During that time, she witnessed the infamous “Strictly curse” lead some celebs to get too close to their pro dance partners.
He said: “When I was doing Formula 1, I regularly had to field requests from Strictly but there were two reasons for not doing it.
“The first was that I was always away at that time of year and the second was that my wife worked on the show, and she was like: ‘You are never going on that show, I know what happens to couples that go on that show!’ I was banned from doing that one.”
Meanwhile Jake, who hosts the High Performance Podcast, revealed he is dying to get rapper Stormzy on his show.
He said: “I know that he listens. He invited us up to Glasgow to watch one of his shows.
“We haven’t yet been able to nail a date but I would love to.”
Caity’s a daddys girl
RISING star Caity Baser admits she discusses everything with her dad – including her sex life.
The singer – whose new song Pretty Boys has hit the Top 40 – revealed she often asks her father for advice on her dating life.
She said: “My dad is my best friend and I tell him everything. He acts like a teenage girl sometimes and I’ll be like, ‘Dad guess what I did?’ and he will be like, ‘What! Tell me!’ He knows everything that happens in my life because we have such an open relationship.
Caity – who also sings about a casual fling on track Friendly Sex – added: “Sometimes I need help and I am like, ‘Dad what do I do? Then I have to tell him everything.”
Perhaps Caity’s dad should ask for songwriting credits . . .
Jes likes sixties
JESY Nelson steps back in time to the Swinging Sixties, for her latest music video.
The former Little Mix singer was spotted filming the promo for new song Bad Things at a working men’s club in Peckham, South East London.

Wearing platform orange heels, white socks and a psychedelic miniskirt, Jessie rolled back the clock to play her mum Janice in the video and tell the story of how her parents met.
Her dad is played by a young dude in a wool coat.
A music source said: “Jesy is loving channelling her mum in the video and fans will really get an insight into her family life.
“It is her most personal track yet and filming has allowed her to take a trip down memory lane.”
Adele’s poker face
ADELE’s residency in Las Vegas has clearly rubbed off on her – I can reveal the singer has become addicted to card games.
The Hello hitmaker has confessed to spending up to 12 hours a day playing Solitaire to help her mental health.
She said: “My anxiety has been bad over the last couple of weeks so I have been handling it by becoming addicted to playing Solitaire on my phone.
“I must play it 12 hours a day. Now I’ve said that I might get a bit embarrassed and hopefully not open the app again tonight.”
Lana in Glasto billing strop
AFTER announcing an all-male headliner line-up, Glastonbury organisers have managed to tick off one of the biggest female artists on the bill.
Lana Del Rey is now threatening to pull out of the Worthy Farm event after her name was buried in the seventh row of the line-up poster.

The singer is underneath all the male headliners — Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John — who are playing on the Pyramid stage.
She shared her anger on Instagram, writing: “Well, I’m actually headlining the 2nd stage. But since there was no consideration for announcing that we’ll see.”
Ouch.
A source close to the Born To Die singer said: “Lana is disappointed. She was proud to be doing a headline slot, but on the announcement graphic her name is buried among lesser-known artists.
“She feels let down being presented as an afterthought lagging behind the all-male trio.”
It’s not the first time artists have been miffed with the order on the line-up poster.
In 2019, Janet Jackson took matters into her own hands by editing the poster so she was the first headliner ahead of The Killers, The Cure and Stormzy who were playing the Pyramid Stage.
She then tweeted the altered version.
In reality, she performed on the lesser West Holts stage — the third largest behind the Pyramid and Other Stage.
Glasto organiser Emily Eavis has blamed the all-male line-up on scheduling issues, claiming Guns N’ Roses were booked after a previously confirmed female headliner — rumoured to be Taylor Swift — “changed her touring plans”.
She said: “We’re trying our best so the pipeline needs to be developed. This starts way back with the record companies, radio. I can shout as loud as I like but we need to get everyone on board.”
Emily added that next year’s festival should see two female headliners, with one already signed and another close to being secured, with Madonna yet to take to the Pyramid Stage.
I sincerely hope she delivers on this promise as the current billing just feels lazy and predictable.
With her stance over this, Lana has proved she can stand up for herself. It is something she has learned to do after a string of nasty incidents earlier in her career.
Last month she opened up about being shoved by strangers and even having to dodge flying objects on first finding fame.
Speaking to fellow musician Billie Eilish in Interview magazine, she said: “All of a sudden, I was walking down the street and people would throw elbows at me. I was like, ‘Oh my god, no way did that happen — someone recognised me and gave me a shove’.
“In San Francisco, I was at a bistro and a woman threw a book about feminism at my face.”
Caught Live
KICKING off a night of musical mayhem, Danny Goffey lashed through tracks from his third solo album Bryan Moone’s Discopunk.
Fans watched in delight as the Superglass drummer hit them with his high-energy new-wave sound.

He was followed by Reverand And The Makers, whose pounding indie rock shook the venue so hard we thought the walls might cave in.
The witty wordplay of new songs including Heatwave In The Cold North worked their magic while old faves such as He Said He Loved Me were bellowed back in full voice to The Reverend, aka John McClure.
It’s clear the band are back with a bang, Revved-up and raring to go.
Band together
MY fave rockers The Slow Readers Club are back with the brilliant new album Knowledge Freedom Power.
It features single Modernise, which singer Aaron Starkie describes as “a techno fear song”.
The band are also touring Europe this month including gigs in Manchester, the Netherlands and Germany with many already sold out. Nice one, lads.
Bebe is queen of curves
BEBE Rexha is riding high after hit single I’m Good (Blue) with DJ David Guetta and is preparing to unleash her third album.
In an exclusive chat, the pop star of the moment gave me her honest take on body positivity, Madonna – and representing Albanian girl power with RIta Ora and Dua Lipa.

Bebe has long been a champion of the curvy figure and loves Brit star Sam Smith’s revealing videos.
She said: “I am the cheerleader for mid-size queens. There is a lot of love for skinny girls and bigger women, but a lot of the time there is no representation for mid-sized girls, which is most of us. I love my body and encourage other girls to love theirs. I applaud what Sam Smith is doing. I feel like we grew up at a time where pop stars all had abs and ripped bodies and I love their ‘I don’t give a f*** attitude’.
Bebe is all about girl power and fiercely supports Madonna over the recent criticism she has faced for her appearance at the Grammys.
She said: “Madonna’s an icon and should do whatever she wants, like she always has. The negative energy around her appearance comes from an insecurity people have.
“Some of the criticism is sexist and ageist. Let Madonna live – she’s beautiful no matter what she does.”
Between Bebe, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa, as well as Ava Max, Albanian singers are killing it right now – and Bebe is delighted.
She said: “Being from immigrant parents, I grew up differently. You get married young and have kids young. Being in music was never an option.
“So breaking through was huge for me and seeing other Albanian girls being successful is amazing. I never grew up watching that in pop, so the fact it’s happening now is exciting.”
The limelight has recently shone on nepo-babies – people who have benefited from having famous parents – in the industry.
But Bebe, who taught herself to play instruments growing up, isn’t critical of this – just pleased she achieved her success on her own.
She said: “I would’ve loved to have been a nepo-baby.
But I am proud to be where I am at, truly, because I didn’t come from money or a famous father or mother – which would’ve been awesome.”
Bebe has collaborated with Dolly Parton on upcoming song Seasons.
She said: “Getting Dolly on the track was a special moment. I never thought I would meet her, let alone get her to collaborate with me.
“It can be scary to meet your idols, but she is such a sweetheart. I wish I could remember more of her advice, but I was honestly so nervous.”
Bebe’s new single, Heart Wants What It Wants, is out now.
Her album is due later this year.

Bebe in Business
BEBE will be back in the UK this summer, I can exclusively reveal.
After performing a string of gigs in the US, she is returning to Blighty to treat her fans to some stage magic.
She says: “I’m going to be touring the UK in July, I’m so excited. I love Britain in the summer.”
