70 firefighters & 10 engines battle to control massive blaze at five-storey hotel near Paddington station

MORE than 70 firefighters in 10 fire engines have rushed to a five-storey hotel near a major train station to battle a horror blaze.

Half of the ground floor of the building by London Paddington is on fire, with the cause currently unknown.

More than 70 firefighters were called in to tackle the blaze near London PaddingtonPA

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed that they were called to the scene this afternoon just after 4.30pm.

A spokesperson said that neighbouring properties have been evacuated.

They added that 10 fire engines, including a fire rescue unit and a 32-metre turntable ladder, are present at the scene.

Crews from nearby stations including Paddington, Kensington and Euston are in attandence.

Road closures are in place and the public are being urged to avoid the area.
